Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleJoin our team of Management Accountants tasked with continually looking for system and process efficiencies in an environment that demands change.In this position, you will support the Interim District Finance Lead to ensure all business information is accurate and timely including but not limited to:Assisting with the development of the annual budgeting and production plans, noting financial implications and opportunities to reduce costs.Evaluate business initiatives ensuring they are robustly challenged and improving value for money decision making.Provide organisational instructions, guidelines and timeframes for budgets.Facilitate the consolidation of monthly reporting. Provide clarity on the financial impact of operational performance.Finance expert within the associated leadership team, driving and capturing operational efficiency and ensuring value for money on investments.About the Team/Service/ LocationHealth New Zealand I Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. Along with holding a relevant tertiary qualification, you will have at least two years' business experience.Our ideal candidate will have:Strong analytical skills, with previous experience of turning these analytics into relevant and focussed management information - making information relevant, insightful and easy to understand will be a key part of your skill set!Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.Knowledge of database management and accessing information from existing data sources.Knowledge of Quality Assurance and a commitment of continuous quality improvement.Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment.The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.Experience in a health environment would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be provided.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
