Management Accountant (Farming & Forestry)Fixed term until the 31 st March 2025Otautahi / Christchurch basedFull time positionWe are seeking a Management Accountant to join our Ngai Tahu Holdings portfolio. Our Ngai Tahu Holdings serves as the steward of commercial activities for Ngai Tahu, managing significant interests in various sectors including commercial property, development, farming, forestry, seafood, honey, and tourism. Committed to the prosperity and sustainability of Ngai Tahu Whanui, our mandate is to grow and protect tribal assets for present and future generations. "Mo tatou, a, mo ka uri a muri ake nei (for us and our children after us)."Te Arotahi Matua / Primary Focus of This Role:As a Management Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of Ngai Tahu Holdings' Farming & Forestry portfolio. This role involves managing a range of accounting and reporting tasks, providing essential business support, and contributing to strategic decision-making.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and reconcile accounts for internal and external platforms.Work alongside our Finance Business Partner to deliver financial analysis and collaborate on budget reporting.Provide monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and process improvements.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and external requirements.Continuously improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency.Maintain a strong understanding of Ngai Tahu systems and data reporting tools.Participate in cultural activities to strengthen your connection to Ngai Tahutanga and te reo Maori.Understanding of farming and forestry practices.2-3 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in month-end accounting.Strong communication skills and a focus on process improvement.Proficiency in MS Excel and high attention to detail.Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.Customer-focused with a strong sense of manaakitanga (hospitality).Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong time and project management abilities.Eagerness to integrate Ngai Tahu values, tikanga, and te reo Maori into your daily work.Openness to embracing a bi-cultural environment and adapting practices accordingly.How to Apply:If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply now.
