Maintenance Technician – Registered Electrician

Our Maintenance team is a key factor in ensuring guests have a comfortable room to go back to after a day of exploring the unique outdoor environment, or to simply relax in a peaceful and beautiful part of the world. We have over 250 guest rooms in the Hermitage complex along with more than 150 staff accommodation rooms.

The Hermitage Hotel is currently seeking a NZ Registered Electrician to join our expanding team. Electricians are a key role within our maintenance team and will perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, and repairs of various electrical systems.

Components of the role: Adhere to all H&S regulations and practice safe working. Troubleshoot and resolve issues on the job quickly, efficiently, and effectively. Interpret and understand plans, drawings, and specifications. Ensure all electrical safety tests are conducted and completed to NZ Electrical Board requirements. Carrying out any other general maintenance duties as directed. This can range from general carpentry and painting tasks to basic plumbing and machinery repairs. Joining an on-call roster. Operating and maintaining all tools and machinery as outlined in department SOPs. Planning and prioritising jobs to ensure time limits are met. Requirements for the role: Must be a NZ Registered Electrician, holding a current practicing licence. Hold a current manual NZ driving licence. Must possess demonstrated, practical experience as an Electrician. Have experience in either commercial, domestic or industrial sectors. Have a strong attention to detail and high level of workmanship. Be able to work within a team and unsupervised, and perform multiple tasks, ensuring this is all completed within the company's Health and Safety requirements. Have the ability to work closely with a diverse range of people as well as being able to build and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. A strong desire to strive for excellence. A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. Friendly, outgoing, and professional, with excellent communication skills.
