Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities at a honey manufacturing site. This role ensures the smooth operation of manufacturing processes by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, as well as handling general maintenance tasks within the facility Job responsibilities and expectations: • Equipment Maintenance:   o Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including honey extraction, processing, and packaging machines. o Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machinery to minimize downtime. o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. o Collaborate with production staff to ensure optimal machine performance and address any operational issues promptly.  • Facility Maintenance: o Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the facility's infrastructure, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures.  o Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and general upkeep.  o Ensure the facility complies with safety and environmental regulations.  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: o Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and facility-related issues, providing efficient and effective solutions.  o Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and implement corrective actions. o Work with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services when necessary. • Inventory and Supplies: o Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. o Order and replenish maintenance supplies as needed to ensure availability for routine and emergency repairs.  • Safety and Compliance: o Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. o Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety policies and procedures. o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to maintenance and facilities operations. • Documentation and Reporting:  o Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repair history.  o Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including downtime analysis and recommendations for improvements. o Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and plans. Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a level 5 qualification  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general building maintenance. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.  • Proficient in using maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
