Our success is due to our awesome customer service, first-class facilities, majestic scenery, and wild terrain.We are currently accepting applications for a rare vacancy as Maintenance Team Leader here at the Remarkables Ski Area.Reporting to the Head of Department (HoD) Maintenance, you will oversee the daily operations of the maintenance team at our ski area. The ideal candidate will work with the maintenance team to plan, coordinate, and execute essential maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, compliance, and reliability of the ski area assets. This role requires hands-on skills in maintaining ski lifts, snow grooming equipment, and other resort facilities, as well as the ability to lead a team and respond swiftly to any maintenance needs.Note: This is a full time, year-round permanent position based in Queenstown.About the roleThe Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising a team of skilled maintenance personnel, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.Oversee the maintenance and repair of ski area assets including all base building services, passenger ropeways (ski lifts) and conveyors, light and heavy vehicle fleet, water and electrical reticulation and communication systems, to ensure all systems function safely and efficiently.Oversee contractors engaged in maintenance activities on the mountain.Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to protect guests and staff.Collaborate with the Maintenance HoD to create seasonal and daily maintenance schedules, prioritizing tasks for optimal resource allocation.Maintain records of all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs, ensuring logs are complete and up to date.Act as a primary point of contact for resolving technical and operational issues, performing diagnostics and repairs as required.Being prepared to respond to urgent repair needs, particularly during high-demand times and assisting in on mountain Emergency Response.About YouTo be successful in your application you must possess the following skills and personal attributes:Previous leadership and/or management experience in maintenance or similar.A sound understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and practices - supported by a trade/industry recognised qualification.A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.Proven ability to drive Health & Safety and compliance standards in the workplace.Highly effective communication and people management skills.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow and cold temperatures.Well versed in the Microsoft application suite to support administrative, documentation and planning activities.Those with working knowledge of ski area plant and equipment with industrial applications are encouraged to apply.Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, during the ski season.Skills and QualificationsA relevant trade or technical qualification.A full NZ driver's license.
