Maintenance Supervisor

Tasman Tanning is New Zealand only producer of finished leather. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our busy engineering team based at our site based in Heads Road, Whanganui. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Supervisor will lead a strong team of fitters and electricians, monitor general maintenance for all departments, coordinate contractors, source quotes for projects, manage the R&M log and liaise with Supervisors to ensure that production requirements are met and downtime is minimised. Responsibilities include: Foster a safety-first culture with zero tolerance, ensuring full understanding, ownership, and implementation of safety policies, along with appropriate risk assessments. Coordination and supervision of all fitters, electricians, outside gang and embedded contractors on a day to day basis Attend to and ensure all breakdowns are a priority for maintenance staff and all breakdowns are minimized Roster management to ensure adequate cover is provided across all shifts and contractor usage is minimized where possible Preventative Maintenance is planned routinely to ensure plant and equipment performances at its optimum Oversee installation of compliance register and MEX Work with Maintenance Planner to provide annual shut schedule with costs The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to build an engaged team and effectively delegate tasks Ability to minimise production downtime Ability to fault find and work under pressure Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities Extensive prior maintenance experience in an industrial environment Intermediate computer literacy The successful candidate will be rewarded with: A supportive, well-established preventative maintenance team The ability to make the role their own and autonomously manage day to day operations A wide variety of responsibilities, balanced between computer and hands-on work Opportunities for career development and advancement Competitive remuneration Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
