ROLE: Maintenance Officer
WORKING HOURS: 7.00am - 3.30pm (negotiable)
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
- To ensure the maintenance of a high-quality physical environment for all IPU New Zealand stakeholders with regard to health, safety and function of buildings, equipment and support services.
- To undertake required maintenance works, and oversee the coordination of the maintenance of Institute properties and equipment.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should possess the following attributes
- Ability to lead, manage, and coordinate
- Possess a range of trade skills in building, painting, and other maintenance areas
- Experience in dropping trees/chainsaw work
- Current drivers licence without endorsements
- Experience with building administration and policies (e.g. building compliance)
- Fit, energetic, able to regularly lift moderate to heavy items
- Good interpersonal communication skills, cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to work proactively, independently and unsupervised, as well as a good team member
- Integrity, reliability, flexibility and willingness to learn more
- Knowledge and appreciation of current health and safety legislation
