As a Maintenance Fitter/Turner Engineer, you will play a crucial role in performing mechanical engineering repairs to vessels, machinery, and structures.
Key Responsibilities: General engineering and fitting maintenance of vessel components (shafts, rudders, seals, valves, pumps, pipework, etc.)
Repair and machine new replacement parts Conduct general maintenance of machinery, pump systems, and slipway components Collaborate with various departments and third parties Uphold on-site health and safety standards Skills & Experience Required from the Ideal Candidate: Proficiency in using a lathe and mill Knowledge of running pipework Confidence in using drilling machines and power hand tools Ability to identify and change out different bearing materials Experience working independently and mentoring junior staff Strong commitment to Health and Safety practices Marine experience is a plus, but not essential—your skills can be integrated into the ship repair industry Preferred Qualifications: Confined spaces Working at heights Rigger/Dogman EWP (Elevated Work Platform) On Offer: Full-time, permanent role (minimum 40 hours, Monday to Friday) with opportunities for overtime, including weekends.
