Maintenance Fitter (Shift, 2 days 2 nights – 4 off)Westland Milk Products enjoys an international reputation and embodies the West Coast spirit in all that it does.
We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of dairy ingredients and products.
About the role: We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join the team based at our Hokitika site on a 4 on 4-off shift roster (2 days 4.45am-5.00pm, 2 nights 4.45pm-5.00am, 4 off).
In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding/fabrication, servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a rostered shift pattern to ensure our plant runs at an optimum level with minimized downtime.
Applicants will ideally possess: Previous practical experience in an FMCG manufacturing facility in a similar role is preferredStrong communication skills with a pro-active approachA strong system and process focus with an eye for continuous improvementThe ability to identify issues relating to reliability & maintenance & site services that require resolutionThe ability to resolve conflict and troubleshoot with patienceAdaptability in an ever-changing environmentAn engineering background ideally with specific manufacturing plant experienceKnowledge of maintenance diagnosticsSound knowledge and experience of working with preventative maintenance systemsYour experience working in general maintenance and diagnostics, including pump overhauls, basic rigging, motor replacements, conveyor alignment, and a welding certification will be an advantage to you in this role.
Proven practical experience is key, and a relevant trade qualification (level 4 or 5) will also enhance your remuneration level.
