Maintenance Fitter (Independent Contractor)The Tasman Tanning Co Ltd is a successful, long-standing Tannery and finished leather business based in Wanganui.About the roleWe are looking for a contract Maintenance Fitter (independent contractor) with Effluent plant experience to cover our weekend shift Friday to Monday (10-hour days) 6am to 4 pm.This is a varied sole charge role but in a typical day you'll be:Working in a safe manner and adhering to safety rules and regulations.Completing maintenance repairs, including routine maintenance, testing, and calibration on production equipment.Performing Effluent and Chrome Plants operational duties including maintenance, sampling, and testing.Capturing data and completing log sheets/reports.A varied range of other duties and inspections to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the plant.About youEvery day will present new challenges, but a positive, can-do attitude coupled with your dedication to site safety, environmental consciousness, and quality procedures will make you the ideal addition to the team. You must have good time management and computer skills (familiarity with MEX would be advantageous).
