Owned by Sumitomo Group, one of Japan's major integrated trading and investment enterprises, JPNZ produces high-quality natural juice concentrates, juices, and puree products, which are exported to Japan, Taiwan, the USA, and Australia.Role: Maintenance FitterWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment. This role involves performing regular maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure all equipment functions at optimal levels.Days and Hours of Work: Typical hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9:30 pm during the production season and 8:30am to 5pm in the off-season. As the site operates 24/7, flexibility may be necessary outside these hours to complete repairs.Duties of the Role:Carry out the workload allocated by the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance CoordinatorRespond to plant breakdowns as a priorityMonitor the condition of all plant and equipmentInvestigate unexpected wear and failures, identifying root causesProactively suggest modifications and upgrades to reduce breakdownsUse the CMMS system to record tasks and enter history and repair usageEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and safe working practicesCoordinate with Site Engineers and Contract Engineering Services and SuppliersPerform industrial equipment maintenance and some fabrication work, including welding, as requiredProactively monitor maintenance requirementsMaintain a tidy maintenance workshop and welding bayAssess plant downtime reasons and implement remedial support to bring the plant back into productionLiaise with quality management staff to ensure work does not impact qualityAttend and participate in daily toolbox talks/planning meetingsThe successful applicant will need the following:Valid NZ work permit or residencyProven mechanical fitting experienceWelding and fabrication (stainless)Knowledge of the food manufacturing industryExperience with CMMS systemsA positive 'can do' attitude combined with good problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement work ethicExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalThis is a great time to join the JPNZ team as we continue to make positive changes to processes, assets, and investment in the right people.Only candidates that have the legal right to work in New Zealand will be considered and communicated with.
