Our Opportunity: We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our dedicated team at Quality Bakers, Auckland.
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.
Shift pattern: Day Shift: Sunday - Wednesday starting at 6am Pay Rate: $42.50 p/h Key accountabilities of the role include: Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities.
Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns.
Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance.
Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs.
Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.
Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site.
Assist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory audits.
Assist the Engineering Manager to manage all mechanical and electrical control hazards on the hazard register to ensure they are closed out within agreed timeframes.
Ensure all breakdowns are communicated to the Engineering Manager.
Ensure all PM work is completed and compliant in the CMMS.
Provide timely and complete reports to the Engineering Manager as required.
The successful applicant will have: Minimum 5 years engineering experience in a fitter role.
GMP and food safety understanding.
Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions.
HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding.
Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable).
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/Welding (desirable).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics).
