Maintenance Engineer The Organisation We are a global food manufacturer supplying the world's largest food chain restaurants. Groenz is part of Golden State Foods (GSF), who are a global food manufacturer for the world's large fast food restaurant chains. Groenz produces high quality sauces and condiments for restaurant chains and commercial customers in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. We are located in Seaview. We are looking for an Engineer to join our highly skilled team to assist in assessing the needs of maintaining and keeping the plant running with our shifts producing 24/5. More than Maintenance Engineer, our engineers are key to achieving the production plan. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Engineering Manager. Applicants for this role must be able to respond to breakdowns, conduct preventative maintenance and complete continuous improvement projects and tasks within agreed timeframes and budget and support the Production facility and team with continuous improvements and plan reliability from and engineering perspective. Key tasks: Provide support to Production to reduce breakdownsComplete scheduled preventative maintenanceAlter task content or frequency to enhance systemLook for continuous improvement for preventative maintenance schedule to minimise breakdownsManage contractors to perform breakdown response and preventative maintenance where neededArrange purchasing of spares to replenish stockKeep repairs and maintenance spend within budgetIdentify best use of repairs and maintenance spendIdentify critical spares that should be held on siteAssist with continuous improvement by resolving issues and/or implementing improvement ideasWrite or assist with writing SOP's for maintenance related tasksAssist Engineering Manager to coordinate projects where requiredSuccessfully manage small projectsAssist in training Production Team Members to prevent damage to plant or to improve plan understanding with the aim of reducing downtimeThe Person Applicants for this role must- Have suitable qualifications and experience to perform the engineering tasks in a manufacturing facility, preferably food Competency in using excel, word and email Small project management skills Passion for continuous improvement Be able to work autonomously Our Values Treat others like you want to be treated.
