About this opportunity
This role will be a shift work and will undertake hands-on repair, maintenance & project work, ensuring production machinery is well maintained, reliable and running at best productivity levels in consultation with the Engineering Manager. Furthermore, this role will assist the Production Team with day-to-day process optimisation and operational oversight.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Carry out hands-on maintenance, repair & plant operational tasks.
Support others with production or quality issues.
Make machine adjustments or repairs as necessary.
Attend to breakdowns and arrange repairs in a timely manner.
Liaise daily with Production Team leader.
Arrange & oversee contractor services.
Liaise with other engineering team members for sharing of resources & mutual support as required.
Assist with plant start-up & shutdown processes.
Operate plant as back-up in absence of Plant Supervisor.
Assist with all aspects of plant and process optimisation.

Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Relevant engineering experience & trade qualifications.
Understanding of complex plant systems.
Ability to undertake direct mechanical work.
Experienced trouble-shooter/solution finder.
Ability to plan, prioritise & manage in a team situation.
Able to effectively supervise and direct others when required.
Good written and verbal communication skills (incl. basic MS Office skills).
