Maintenance Engineer

Somerset is an NZ owned company that delivers best produce, operating 7 days per week. We have high levels of automation, running a sophisticated modern plant. We employ between 30 - 40 staff encouraging a positive family driven work culture.We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer for our family-owned Packhouse based in Hamilton.
The role requires the responsibility for maintaining our preventive maintenance program, repairing and servicing machinery.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Ensure all machines comply with safety requirements
Ensure all plant compliances are maintained and current
Assist with preparation of repair and maintenance budgets as required
Ensure daily maintenance checks are completed
Ensure supplies and spare parts are at adequate levels and order as necessary
Ensure plant (internal and external) and machinery are kept clean & tidy and engineers store organised
Continue maintenance schedule for all key plant items
Minimise machine downtime
Carry out machine repairs in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner
Organise and co-ordinate contractors as required
Ensure contractors are inducted and abide by company H&S requirements
Order machine spares as required and maintain a register of spares
Ability to maintain relationships with team leaders to ensure any problems are dealt with fast and efficiently with a team approach to maintenance upheld
Ensure regular daily maintenance tasks are updated as needed
Other duties as may be required

The successful candidate will:

NZQF Level 5 or higher qualification, or at least 3 years exprience in the fields relevant to mechanical/maintenance engineering.
Having strong skills in planning and execution
Clean police record
Can pass drug test
