Te Turanga /About the Role: Our Pareora site in Timaru is the second largest site in our Silver Fern Farms network, employing over 700 people in peak season.
We are looking for a motivated, skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our engineering team.
Responsible for the electrical servicing, planned and reactive maintenance and support in our fast paced food production facility.
Our Electrical team is required to work a rotating roster covering production hours Monday to Friday with regular, paid overtime on Saturdays.
Flexibility to our seasonal business requirements is important to succeeding in this role.
The roster schedule is four weeks on day shift and one week on night shift; shared evenly between the team.
Te Mahi /Key Responsibilities: Undertake electrical repairs and maintenance to plant equipment to minimise equipment failure.
Ensure any breakdowns in equipment or process is back to full production capacity within the shortest time, whilst always ensuring yours and others health and safety.
Encourage a health and safety focussed culture through personal participation in H&S initiatives.
Food hygiene regulations are complied with when working in areas controlled by MPI regulations.
Ou Pukenga /About You: Relevant Trades Qualification and Full NZ EWRB Electrical registration.
Good knowledge of sound electrical principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site.
Exposure to PLC and VSDs, instrumentation and control systems.
Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you.
Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support.
Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment and lead by example from the front.
Desire to keep learning and upskill – be this in a leadership scope or dual trading into refrigeration or even project design.
