Job Description
About the opportunity:
The purpose of this role is to work as part of the operational team to achieve the highest levels of performance with regards to customer service, product quality, efficiency, innovation, safety and environment. Maintain, develop, and improve process and automation projects to increase productivity and profitability whilst ensuring the efficient running of the Mt Wellington Viscount facility equipment.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Ensure all current electrical work and equipment complies with current New Zealand Electricity (Safety) Regulations and AS/NZS 3000.
Diagnose and resolve breakdowns to electrical reticulation and equipment in a cost effective and timely manner.
Develop and improve existing automation and equipment.
Develop maintenance and upgrade plans for key equipment with the Maintenance Engineering Manager.
Work with management staff to develop, plan and cost automation projects as required.
Project manage (with Maintenance Engineering Manager) the implementation of successful projects.
To ensure that all staff are aware of their housekeeping responsibilities.
To identify initiatives that will improve the overall level of housekeeping.
To set very high expectations and to lead by example in terms of the level of housekeeping required.
To ensure the plant actively manages risks relating to food grade manufacture with a Good Manufacturing Programme that follows HACCP principles.
To ensure compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment legislation, and Viscount Plastics policies.
In conjunction with the Maintenance Engineering Manager and Business Unit Manager, implement and manage the Health and Safety regime throughout the plant, including Hazard management and supporting training requirements for staff in hazard management.
To oversee regular audits of the plant and machinery to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Policy.
Training and experience requirements:
Essential:
Full Electrical Registration.
Manufacturing background in automation and PLC based control systems.
Current A grade Electrical License.
Demonstrated Maintenance Electrician experience ideally from an FMCG, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial or similar environment.
Experience in predictive maintenance solutions and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Experience in plastics processing industry.
Project management.
