We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Coordinator, who is responsible for the operational, compliance and plant performance of wastewater systems within the scope of our Thames contract.
What's on offer On the job training and career development A great team-working environment Competitive hourly rate What you'll be responsible for Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the wastewater plants within the contract area, including compliance with plant performance parameters and consent conditions Contributing to the monitoring and reporting on district water supply and stormwater systems The management of capital works and performance optimisation projects Providing leadership for operational and maintenance activities in the Thames areas, including the continuing support for and the development of operational staff; participation in Health and Safety, Business Management systems, and operations and client monthly meetings.
With the Water Operations Coordinator and Operations Engineers ensure that excellent and timely reporting is achieved Routinely analyse the wastewater abstracts operator inputs and prepare improvement recommendations for the Operations Engineers consideration Provide operational and sampling back up to the treatment operators Audit completed works undertaken by the network teams and contractors and report on performance and compliance In conjunction with the Water Operations Coordinator and Operations Engineer coordinate and prepare 72 hour reports relating to operations and environmental transgressions/failures Encourage a proactive commitment to health and safety within the contract and in partnership with our contractors to work effectively for the achievement of workplace zero harm Management functions including the maintenance of records, system audits, administration response to client request for service, ordering of materials and equipment, facilitation of local toolbox and health and safety meetings, review of operation and maintenance manuals To undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers Overview the operation and maintenance of the water, wastewater and stormwater treatment plants and networks throughout the Thames area in accordance with the Contract and Veolia's procedures.
Coordinate programmed maintenance activities for the contract area including allocation of PM WO and working with area Supervisors to ensure allocated work is completed and reported within the required time frames Programmed maintenance administration for the Thames area, including allocation and completion of monthly maintenance activity, review of completed maintenance and reactive work and the associated modification of the maintenance programmes, production of maintenance records and relevant comment for follow up work and inclusion to the monthly contract report Complete the associated reporting and administration work in an accurate and timely manner.
Liaise with the Council Field representative and staff and participate in monthly Council meetings Provide positive leadership, support and motivation to the Thames area team particularly during periods of work overload, planned and unplanned staff absences.
Complete 6 monthly Staff reviews (PRD) Participate in the second escalation roster (1 in 3) Support operational SCADA and GIS use including provision of training.
Provide contractor management including annual inductions where contractors are retained for local operations Contribute to the management of the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems while applying the procedures in all aspects of work What you'll need to be successful Diploma in Wastewater treatment or equivalent.
Experience with maintenance management systems and team development.
Level 4 National Certificate Reticulation and Supervision Minimum of Level 4 National Certificate in both Water and Wastewater Treatment Demonstrated experience in operations management and maintenance of sludge and sequential batch reactor type wastewater plants.
Demonstrated experience in water treatment plant management.
Experience with the use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and control systems (desirable).
Minimum of 5 years water or wastewater operations experience or related fields.
A commercial focus and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients and customers.
Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Experience and or exposure to Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management systems ISO 9000 and 14000 and 4801.
Proven experience in leading for team results Well developed reporting and report writing skills.
5 years' experience in water, wastewater and stormwater network operation and maintenance; detailed knowledge of the local systems is an advantage Competent in the application and use of VAMS/Infor, GIS, ESS, Water Outlook and SCADA MS Office suite of programs (essential).
