We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance and Development Electrician to join our team at our Research and Development Centre in Palmerston North. At our Research and Development Centre, we are incredibly passionate about doing amazing things with dairy.
As our Maintenance and Development Electrician, you will become an integral member of the R&D Services team. This team is dedicated to developing innovative ideas and cutting-edge solutions for the centre's operation and delivery. In this essential role, you will utilise your electrical expertise to maintain, develop, and provide engineering services and processes for our site services, utilities, pilot plant, and laboratories.
You'll be seen as the go-to person for practical problem-solving, providing technical expertise to maximise the flexibility and reliability of the site's assets and operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to contribute to a passionate and forward-thinking team while working on exciting and impactful projects.
About you | Ko wai koe
You'll be someone who excels at adapting to change, stays calm under pressure, and can effectively troubleshoot unexpected breakdowns.
Holding a relevant Electrical Trade Certificate, you'll utilize your trades background and robust practical and technical skills. You thrive in dynamic environments and possess a value-add mindset. As a collaborative team player, you're motivated to seek continuous improvements and contribute added value.
Key skills and experience include:
NZ registered Electrician (Cert in Electrical Engineering L4 or higher) with a current practicing license
Proven industrial electrical experience - ideally in Food manufacturing Plant required with Dairy Industry preferred.
Familiarity with data systems (HMI, PLCs, SCADA)
Engage in quality assurance system upkeep, including boiler and water management compliance testing, and train other staff members.
Computer literacy and experience with a CMMS system is advantageous
Passion for providing innovative solutions and positive results to the manufacturing process
Effective communicator with proven successful stakeholder management
This role also requires you to be part of the callout and standby schedule to ensure staff coverage.
