Mainstreets Caretaker

About the Role - The purpose of the position is to ensure the urban area of Hawera is maintained in a manner which enhances the image of the town, to actively promote and demonstrate Council's organisational values.
This job involves picking up rubbish, sweeping the streets, cleaning public toilets, removing graffiti, spot washing pavers, and occasionally giving those causing mischief in the Town Centre a hurry up.
A broad set of skills is required.
We are looking for someone who cares about cleanliness, manages their time well, has great interpersonal skills, doesn't mind working outdoors in all weather conditions, is self-motivated and is keen to work on a job share roster basis.
About You - You will have the ability to connect and engage with members of the public and work with others to accomplish objectives along with demonstrating a personal commitment to Health and Safety to ensure the safety of yourself and others while carrying out the role.
