The Opportunity Due to an internal promotion, we have a rare opportunity for a motivated plant operator to join our tight knit Asphalt team in Nelson.
You will be someone who is practical and has a mechanical minded hands-on approach, coupled with an understanding of asphalt plant manufacturing and its mechanical operation.

Responsibilities Asphalt plant operation Monthly calibration checks on cold feed bins Plant and equipment maintenance and cleaning Ensure adequate production to meet customer demands Follow requirements set out by supervisor or Department Manager Ensure that appropriate inspection, measuring and test equipment is used to demonstrate conformance to requirements Operating a FE loader What you'll bring to the table Full Class 1 and WTR NZ Drivers Licence essential General plant operation knowledge and basic trouble-shooting ability Ability to work flexible shifts, some night and weekend work will be required A mechanical or engineering background would be an advantage Ability to work effectively in a small team Experience or exposure to civil plant operations - Asphalt Plant or Bitumen Plant would be a bonus but not essential, full training will be provided Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (customer facing) An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match.
