Job Title: Extrusion Operator / Machine Operator Location: Waters & Farr Rangiora, Christchurch
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the extrusion line equipment, performing quality checks, and adhering to health and safety standards. Working closely with the Quality Team, Yard Operators, and Customer Service, this role is critical to achieving our production efficiency and quality objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
Extrusion Line Operation: Operate and monitor the continuous flow of extrusion operations, following established company procedures and safety standards.
Start-Up and Shutdown Procedures: Conduct start-up, clean-up, and shutdown activities for extruders and related processing equipment.
Quality Checks and Inspections: Perform all necessary quality checks, respond to issues, and complete required documentation accurately.
Cross-Training: Engage in cross-training for different machines and other areas within the plant to maintain flexible operations.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all pre-start checks, production reports, operator checks, and quality control paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
Efficiency Goals: Actively support plant goals in production efficiency, downtime reduction, and schedule adherence by driving out losses and continuously improving processes.

Qualifications:
Essential: Previous machine operation experience, decision-making skills, customer-focused approach, and commitment to safety practices.
Preferred: Forklift certification, experience in plastic or steel extrusion, and strong problem-solving skills.
