Machine Operator/Asbestos Removalist. In this dual role, you will operate heavy  machinery and equipment to perform demolition and excavation tasks, as well as  safely remove asbestos-containing materials from various sites.  Key Responsibilities:  Operate heavy machinery, such as excavators, and loaders, to perform  demolition according to project requirements. Conduct pre-operation checks and inspections of machinery to ensure proper  functioning and safety compliance.  Safely maneuver equipment to perform precise and controlled movements,  avoiding obstacles and hazards on the work site. Collaborate with team members to coordinate activities and ensure efficient  and effective operations on the job site.  Follow project plans and instructions to execute demolition tasks safely and  accurately. Conduct asbestos removal activities in strict accordance with regulatory  requirements and safety protocols. Safely handle, package, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials to  prevent environmental contamination and health risks. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear to  minimize exposure to hazardous materials. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including proper  containment and disposal of asbestos waste. Promptly report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor for  immediate resolution and mitigation.  Requirements:  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in  a demolition environment.  • B-Class asbestos removalist training and certification highly desirable.  • Knowledge of asbestos regulations and safe work practices is preferred. • Experience working with asbestos or hazard material highly desirable  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating reliability and  cooperation.  • Strong attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to safety in all aspects  of work.  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in a demanding work  environment.  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and  supervisors.  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is essential.  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required. Hour rate of Job: $29.66  How many hours the job for : minimum 30 hours per week Permanent full-time employment Based in Rotorua, but travel will be around Bay of Pentry, Waikatov and Oakland Regions.Â
