We have an exciting opportunity for a Lump Sum Claims Specialist to join the team to assess and manage Life, Terminal Illness, Trauma, and Redundancy claims.
You will be doing this by providing excellent customer service to our customers and operational support to the Team Manager along with assisting in any shared Claims team tasks.
The core hours of operation for our claims team are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5 pm.
We can provide flexibility in our work hours, whilst still meeting the needs of our customers and being available during these core hours.
The role: Assess entitlements to life, trauma, terminal illness, accident recovery and redundancy benefits.
This includes analysis of claim documentation from insured, medical practitioners and employers along with calculation of benefits.
Answer detailed and sensitive enquiries from clients and external service providers.
Provide recommendations to the Manager, Claims (Northern) regarding declinature.
Provide requested information by understanding and respecting customers' requirements.
Develop and clearly communicate appropriate responses.
Meet obligations and service criteria.
Look for ways to improve the service provided.
Work with internal stakeholders in supporting claims end to end processes.
Regularly review existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvements on a constant basis.
Ensuring all Reinsurance Recoveries are requested from our Reinsurance partners and followed-up as appropriate.
What we are looking for: NCEA Level 3 in English and Maths is desirable.
Life Insurance and product knowledge.
Knowledge from previous employment and on job training.
Medical knowledge or training desirable.
Previous Life Insurance experience.
High standard of accuracy.
Team player.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work to deadlines.
