Job Description / The role - The Logistics Officer position sits within the New Zealand Contingency and sustainment team and is responsible for effectively supporting husbanding contracts in the division, both domestically and overseas.

Duties and Responsibilities / a day in the life of the Logistics Officer – Managing ship visits by liaising with the customer, various suppliers and agents as directed by the Contract Manager. Supervision of sub-contractors and agents whilst supporting the customer. Update tracking sheets with relevant information. Support the Contract Manager to maintain supply chain systems, security systems and operating systems. Maintain agents' details per port/region, and update supplier databases in consultation with Contract Manager. Utilise strong business judgement and business sense to interpret operational issues and risks and identify solutions to increase operational efficiency. Identify innovative solutions to underlying problems in methods or systems to improve operational excellence. What You'll Need to Succeed: Working knowledge of providing ship husbandry services and land-based support to ships and camps. Excellent knowledge of MS Suite with strong MS Excel skills and experience with SAP. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers. Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills. Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others. Special Conditions - This role may require work outside of standard business hours and days. Domestic and international travel will be required.
