JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description:Lead and collaborate with our suppliers to deliver cost effective and efficient best-in-class serviceMars New Zealand is home to market leading brands such as PEDIGREE MARS, SNICKERS, WHISKAS, ECLIPSE6 Month contract based from our Ellerslie office with 50% of week WFH Mars is a family-owned business with more than $35 billion in global sales, we're passionate about our people and looking to recruit our next Logistics Manager.Join our highly engaged team where you'll be internally and externally focused role which is responsible for enabling growth through the provision of Service Excellence.You'll working collaboratively with key stakeholders as this role owns the relationship and service provided by end-to-end 3rd Party Logistics Suppliers, ensuring customer centricity in all relevant Supply decision making.Lead and collaborate with our suppliers to deliver cost effective and efficient best-in-class service to all internal and external customers by designing and executing superior inbound and outbound processes.What would be your key responsibilities?
Lead a team of 3 logistics professionalsPrepare the annual NZ logistics budget and strategies for the logistics improvements for the business.Initiate and drive the development, rollout and ongoing management and reporting on Logistics initiatives such as; Do it Best (DiB) delivery, Efficiency, Productivity, Logistics Conversion Cost (LCC) improvements, Global Ocean Tenders etc.
to global standards, enabling efficiency within the logistics network and to achieve desired cost savings year on year Ensure Safe Products and a Safe Workplace by being a role model of the use and application of Mars Quality Principle, Mars Global Quality Standards, and the application of Mars safety standardsLead and challenge the design, management and continuous improvement of the MARS end-to-end storage and route to market solution ensuring a fit for purpose (current & future) optimised and efficient warehousing & distribution model that achieves budgeted and operational/service goals.
Ensure all service partners; warehousing, freight (Domestic & Blue Water), customs agents, freight forwarders etc provide a cost effective and efficient service to ensure our products are delivered in full and on time to all customers within agreed timeframes, whilst adhering to Supply Chain best practice at all times.Managing Team operational activity on a daily basis to ensure effective management and execution of priorities and to provide expert training and guidance.Drive and actively support the Business Planning process (S&OP+) through development of Logistics related initiatives negotiated and aligned with customers.What are we looking for?
Diploma qualification in Logistics management or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution desirable.
(Degree level education preferred)Proven experience in logistics / 3pl management Ideally In FMCG/GroceryIn-depth understanding of warehousing and transport (supply chain logistics) operational and management procedures and systems.
Working knowledge of legislation, codes of practice, etc., governing transport logistics business activities.
