Role Overview : As the Hire / Logistics Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating hire sales and operations to maximize the efficiency of the Hire Department.
This includes managing the dispatch and freight of inwards and outwards orders, ensuring that all hire equipment is kept clean, safe, and fully functional.
You will play a key role in supporting operational logistics, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining high-quality service standards for our customers.
Key Responsibilities :
Professionally handle customer calls and emails, maximizing hire sales and promoting products. Resolve complaints promptly.
Build strong customer relationships, process orders accurately, and ensure timely dispatch.
Maintain accurate records of plant serial numbers and movements for invoicing.
Inspect and maintain equipment before and after use, ensuring it's ready for hire.
Oversee plant delivery/pick-up, manage storage, and dispatch equipment efficiently.
Ensure timely, cost-effective freight services and assist with stocktakes.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a tidy, safe work environment.
Complete administrative tasks promptly to support operations.
Assist with ad hoc duties, deliveries, and forklifting.
What you need to succeed:
Demonstrated experience in operations coordination, preferably in equipment hire or related industries.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, with certifications or additional training in operations management (preferred).
Tech-savvy with proficiency in computing and word processing (experience with NetSuite or ERP systems is desirable).
Class 2 Truck and Forklift Licenses preferred (support will be provided to obtain these if needed).
Exceptional written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong capability to drive operational excellence and improve processes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and multitask efficiently.
Professional, well-presented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
A strong team player who thrives in small, dynamic teams.
Willingness to occasionally work extra hours to prioritize customer satisfaction.
