We provide above and beyond customer service in the wilderness! The Humpridge Track is located in Southern Fiordland and comprises of a 3-day 2-night adventure - 62km and two Lodges, adding some luxury to the usual NZ walking track. We engage with a wide range of walkers and offer three quite different packages catering to their respective tramping needs. Awareness of the Humpridge Track (A wholly owned and operated subsidiary of the Tuatapere Hump Track Charitable Trust) has increased significantly through the journey towards Great Walk Status in 2024/25. If you have a 'can do' attitude, a passion for delivering great customer service, and meet the skill sets below, send us your CV for consideration for the next season.We require a Lodge Lead, with;Friendly personality with experience in a similar role, or willing to learn.A welcoming disposition and having a 'can do' attitude is essential.Ability to be the lead person with overall day-to-day function of the lodge.Meal preparation of a high standard – an eye for detail.Presentable with a professional approach to self-appearance.Physical capability to carry out menial tasks as they arise, such as loading & offloading helicopter.Physically fit and able to walk 20km when required.Able to live and work remotely on a rostered basis (2 weeks on/1 week off).Responsibilities include;Daily hands-on management of the lodge, self-motivation & team leadership skills.Supervise the 2IC to ensure high-quality standards are met.Minor maintenance daily/weekly/monthly checks – e.g., water supply, battery charge, & generator operations, manage utilities.Plan and control stock levels, keeping ahead of the game.Work under the direction of the Operations Lead + General Manager.Meal preparation for our catered guided walks and other designated meals, training also provided.Prerequisite License Controller Qualification Cert & Duty Manager License (prior to commencement).Brief guests in the evening on house rules and other relevant information.Health & Safety (First Aid Cert) and regular safety checks and registers.We require a 2IC, with;Experience in a similar 2IC role or willing to learn.Presenting yourself well and able to work in a team.Ability to get all your daily responsibilities done in an efficient timely manner - Time Management.Physical capability to carry out menial tasks as they arise.Physically fit and able to walk 20km if and when required.Friendly and approachable disposition.Able to live and work remotely on a rostered basis - (2 weeks on/1 week off)Responsibilities include;Work under the supervision of the Lodge Lead and work as a team.Daily duties include cleaning of the lodge and ablutions, room preparation, laundry, and other duties assigned.Perform your duties to a professional standard, efficiently and on time.Always assist your teammate.All applicants must be eligible to work in NZ for the duration of the season.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
