As a Locality Officer, you will act as a key ambassador for the Council, engaging directly with customers in your area and addressing their needs efficiently. Your role will be to provide broad operational support, assisting in a wide range of community and compliance activities. You will gather valuable community intelligence and feedback, supporting Council's engagement and communication efforts to enhance service delivery and wellbeing in the community.
This role includes responsibilities such as conducting inspections, collecting samples and data, supporting case management and specialists, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. You will also be involved in running local education campaigns to help address community concerns, change behaviours, and influence service demand.

Relevant Qualifications and Experience: NCEA Level 2 or equivalent and a full NZ Driver's Licence. You should be highly skilled in communication and conflict resolution, with experience in evidence gathering and investigations.Community Engagement and Mediation Skills: A proven ability to engage with diverse community groups, mediate disputes, and provide effective operational support across various tasks. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of Council operations and the Waitaki District.Self-Management and Multitasking: Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. The salary for this position will commence between $64,402 and $75,768 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
