Job Description About the role You will be responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of equipment used to transport, turn, mix, shred, and screen organic material in the production of compost and growing media.
This key operational role will require someone who is motivated and diligent with the ability to analyze issues critically and optimize outcomes.
It is also essential that you are fully committed to Health and Safety, follow prescribed policies and procedures, drive a positive culture, and lead by example.
Your key responsibilities will include: Operation of a variety of mobile equipment including wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts, move, turn, and load bulk materials Operation of specialist equipment including trommel screens, low-speed shredders & high-speed grinders, ensuring equipment is clean and operating Pre-start inspection, routine maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment to ensure operational readiness Batching and blending of growing media.
General labor duties including shoveling, water blasting, sweeping.
Qualifications About you A minimum of 3 years' experience operating excavators and wheel loaders >10 tonne (preferably in a composting or similar industry) A full, clean New Zealand Driver's License with W, T & F endorsements (Class 4 license desirable) A reasonable level of physical fitness High personal drive and the ability to work autonomously A technical and analytical mindset with the ability to learn quickly Excellent communication skills and numeracy Effective time management skills Flexibility to work extended hours, particularly during Spring & Autumn periods A willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Full commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality principles and processes Additional Information What is in it for me?
