Liz van Welie Aquatics (LVWA) based in Tauranga has a very busy Swim School and coaching program catering to groups from parents and babies through to school age and on to competitive swimming, fitness and triathlon squads.
LVWA Swim School is recruiting for one or two positions to fill hours specifically on the weekend for teaching baby classes. There is the potential to pick up a weekday morning shift also for the right candidate but please be aware this advert is to cover a weekend shift from the hours of 8am - 4.30pm. We are also happy to look at a split shift for two people.
For the successful person renumeration for weekend work teaching babies is time and a half after two hours of work Currently only employing if you are over the age of 18.
We seek to recruit staff with strong and positive personal qualities to work with children and their families. We are looking for staff with experience (but not necessarily) in teaching or working with babies and parents through to those who could teach with more stroke specifics across freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Full training is provided. While qualifications and or swimming experience will be a bonus it is not necessary, it is good character and personal qualities that children and parents relate to and we employ.
Key responsibilities:
Teach babies and children following the LVWA curriculum and lesson plans and/or tailoring classes to get optimal progression from each individual.Ensure classes are started on time, use time management skills to ensure the flow of classes to give optimal time for progression of each student.Manage class progression through tracking within the classes as well using our online programmeCommunicate with parents about student progress Foster relationships with staff and management Adhere to all health and safety policies within the businessAttend all staff training requiredThis position would report to the Swim School Co-ordinator
