About the role

Right now, we need Livestock Advisors for our New Plymouth region to work with autonomy and accountability to assist in achievement of all livestock production targets to meet broiler supply requirements for the processing plant, while maintaining optimal bird health, welfare, and biosecurity standards across the supply chain.
This includes overseeing contractor performance, ensuring adherence to Tegel's quality and operational standards, managing corrective actions.
The Livestock Advisor should be well-versed in maintaining the animal welfare codes of practice.
A day in the life of Livestock Advisor:
Drive improvement in the performance standards for growth, health and welfare of the Farms under your scope.
Assist in monitoring and improving compliance to quality, safety, environmental, biosecurity and animal welfare standards.
Liaise with Breeders, Hatchery, Feedmilling and Processing colleagues to advise and find solutions to any issues or opportunities identified on farms.
Lead or assist with projects across the farming network ensuring they are within framework, to budget and outcomes clearly communicated.
Provide relief management for company-operated farms as needed, including overseeing daily operations, and ensuring alarm system coverage.
You must be able to work flexible hours to suit work demands. This role includes a company tool of trade vehicle.
What will you bring:
Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in poultry Farm servicing or Farm Management.
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Knowledge of relevant legislative and compliance requirements.
Ability to demonstrate modern farming methods & a commitment to animal welfare.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
