In response to identified need, the literacy lead will support learner achievement, engagement and wellbeing by strengthening intervention initiatives and school-wide teaching practice within the area of literacy. 12 hours teaching, 8 hours release time.The successful applicant will lead and coordinate within school literacy leaders, literacy teachers, curriculum leaders, and the wider teaching staff to successfully embed impactful and sustainable literacy practices at Whangaparaoa College. This will include applying evidence-based approaches, planning professional development, and supporting the school's effective teaching practice based on culturally responsive relationship-based teaching.School leaders must embody Ahuatanga Whangaparaoa, and be committed to ensuring staff and learners embrace this and our school vision and values.
