As a senior leader within the Breakfast team as Line Up Producer - Breakfast, you will support the Executive Producer to lead and manage a team of producers, reporters, and presenters in the production of daily content for the Breakfast programme and its digital offer. Your focus will be to meet TVNZ's strategy and play a major part in reaching agreed targets of quality, budget, and ratings.
The opportunity - Te turanga This role involves focusing on:
Help manage the on-air broadcast of Breakfast; adjust elements for time, late breaking stories, technical failures, and other changes.Handover to (and support) Planning Producer, Senior Producer Breakfast (nights), Supervising Producer, and EP Breakfast.Be legally proficient and ensure upward referral to EP Breakfast of contentious or unclear issues.Communicate needs to the journalistic production team, crews, graphic artists, news presenters, directors, and support staff.Review all scripts for structure, clarity, and legal compliance, as required.Fill in for EP Breakfast and Supervising Producer when required to solely assume responsibility for the Breakfast show.To be successful in this role, we are looking for: Tertiary journalism qualification from industry or recognized institution.Extensive knowledge of Television operational and production processes, including new technology.Proven experience in broadcast journalism and production.Strong knowledge of the Television News and Current Affairs industry.Possesses extensive knowledge of the industry including legislative requirements, practicing codes, and News and Current Affairs policies and procedures.Experience in managing the logistics of programme productions.Maintains a good general knowledge and a keen awareness of local, national, and international events and daily news developments.Excellent organizational and project management skills.Proven management and leadership abilities.Good judgment and problem-solving skills.Focused, and performs well under pressure.Able to work with deadlines.Ability to guide, help, and earn the trust of presenters and staff on a daily/weekly basis.Apply Now - applications close on Wednesday 18th December.
