We are looking for multiple Line Mechanics to join our Lines crews within our Taumarunui Depot to help in our mission to deliver the best outcomes for our colleagues and customers.
The Role
This is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with an hourly rate ranging from $34 per hour to $37 per hour dependent on experience, with plenty of opportunities for regular overtime and allowances.
Please note you must be available for a 24-hour callout roster on a one-in-four basis.
Main Duties include: Network fault finding and repairs. Network maintenance, including proactive and corrective maintenance of 230V, 400V, 11kV, and 33kV overhead lines and underground cables. Operation and switching activities. New electrical reticulation construction. About You
Our first focus is your safety as well as the safety of those around you; therefore, you must have an unwavering commitment to H&S and the capacity to achieve excellence in this area through a regulated network environment. It is also essential for you to have the following:
Hold minimum EWRB limited registration. Preferably a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Line Mechanic within the electricity industry in New Zealand or a minimum of 4 years' experience as a Line Mechanic overseas, working with distribution plant and equipment. (ANZCO code 342211) A flexible and creative approach to problem solving, good judgement, and a proactive, positive "can do" attitude. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a collaborative style of engagement and experience dealing with internal and external parties. Living locally is crucial to allow a timely response to faults.
