We are looking for a Tradesperson to join our Mobile Equipment Workshop at New Zealand's Aluminium Smelter.

Heavy Automotive Diesel Mechanic Qualified Mechanical Fitter Light Automotive Mechanic The Mobile Equipment Workshop (Garage) is primarily accountable for providing vehicle maintenance and breakdown services of over 200 items of heavy industrial mobile equipment to a site that operates 24/7.
The Garage currently has a team of 12 people including a Crew Leader, Planner, Equipment Reliability Officer, Tradespeople and Apprentices.
Based at Tiwai in Invercargill, this is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team working either of the below: 7am-5pm with a shift rotation of 8 days on / 6 days off 7am-5pm Day Shift Monday-Friday.
Key Accountabilities include: Performs maintenance tasks.
Identifies defects and provide feedback on asset performance and health via the Rio Tinto Business Solution (RTBS), raising notifications and competing work orders.
Supports the defect elimination process and contributes to the work management analysis and asset tactics reviews.
Ensures work management activities are undertaken in line with work order/job instructions.
Undertakes post maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up.
What you'll bring We are seeking a person with excellent communication skills and a relevant mechanical trade qualification.
Proven experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems is preferable.
Holding a current Class 1 Drivers Licence is also required (Class 2, desirable).
We require successful candidates to possess a high degree of flexibility and strong problem solving skills to identify and conduct planned and unplanned repair and diagnostic work within production time constraints on a wide variety of equipment.
