With a new SAR structure in place, this is an exciting time to join the team. The Lifesaving & SAR Support Manager reports to the General Manager of Lifesaving. They will be responsible for supporting the effectiveness of the SLS Paid Lifeguard Service (PLS) and developing the SAR framework ensuring SAR Leaders are well-supported and engaged, and expectations aligned.
This role will have three direct reports (SAR Support Officers) spread across the motu. These roles will provide direct support to SLS SAR Teams and members.
We are looking for someone who can lead, manage and support the SAR team to deliver a strong member-centred service to achieve better outcomes for the membership. The successful candidate will need the ability to work under pressure, possess great organisation, communication, and collaboration skills, along with enthusiasm and energy. They will be an advocate for Surf Life Saving in relevant forums and with stakeholders such as NZSAR, NZ Police, Local Government & other SAR partners.
The role can be based at any SLS Office (Auckland, Tauranga, Gisborne, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin).
