Do you thrive working within the community as part of a team to deliver high quality results?
Are you seeking a new challenge, dealing with a wide variety of operational tasks?
The Waimakariri District Council operates three Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and Oxford Community Aquatic Centre. From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential. We are a respectful and progressive team delivering value for our customers.
To assist with this, we are currently seeking applications for Lifeguards at our Rangiora and Kaiapoi pools. You will be working with a team to ensure the comfort, safety and security of our customers while they visit our facilities. Part time hours are available in the evenings and throughout the day on weekends. As our facilities operate an average of fifteen hours a day, seven days a week, additional training and hours are available in other disciplines including Customer Service and Learn to Swim.
As a Lifeguard, you will be a passionate team player seeking a role which gives you direct contact with the public. You will be self-motivated, great at organising tasks and a strong communicator. The demonstrated ability to work within a team to serve a diverse customer base would be of benefit. Previous Aquatics experience is not essential but would be an advantage. The successful applicant will hold or be capable of achieving the Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate, which requires a degree of fitness including a timed swim of 200m (8 lengths of a 25m pool) in 6 minutes.
In return, we will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in this community. We will work with you to develop your skills through ongoing training and provide opportunities to grow by learning skills in other areas of the business. You will help to grow recreation participation within the district and contribute to the growth and development of your team. We offer a competitive remuneration package with flexible working arrangements, which allow for a great work life balance.
