We're looking for people at all stages of life to join our team. We currently have both full-time and part-time permanent vacancies at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre.
The pools across Wellington provide a vital service to our city - and as a lifeguard you'll play a key role in helping people get the most out of their recreational facilities and have a safe, enjoyable experience. You'll work in a stimulating environment and have plenty of development opportunities within Wellington City Council.
Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (WRAC) is our premier facility operating 7 days all year-round providing outstanding sport and recreation programmes as well as hosting regional and national aquatic sporting events. We are a fast-paced facility where no two days are the same, offering a super supportive environment while growing our people.
We currently have 3 Full Time Permanent Lifeguard positions on a 3-week rotating shift opportunities at WRAC along with part-time packages ranging from 12-24 hours available.
To be a lifeguard, you need to be a confident swimmer, have a can-do attitude, and be great with people. No previous lifeguarding experience is necessary; however, you need to be willing and committed to gaining the required qualifications.
We will provide all training and support to get you up to speed AND we will pay you as you train!
You will gain at a minimum the following qualifications:
Pool Life Saving Practicing Certificate (PLPC)
We pay $59,547 per annum for full-time Lifeguards and $27.80 per hour for our part-time lifeguards. We operate our facility on a rostered system which includes some weekends and public holidays. Let us know your preference of position above when you apply.

Applicants must be 16 years of age or over, and as this role is safety sensitive, you will require to obtain and maintain police vetting clearance, as well as undergo drug and alcohol screenings and health testing.
