About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity, guided by a strong Ngati Whakaue Maori cultural story to establish a world class Spa and Wellness facility. Kaupapa Ngati Whakaue Maori principles, (manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and aroha) underpin the Spa's unique 'point of difference' and authenticity.
The role of the Lifeguard is to provide high levels of customer supervision, safety and guidance, while ensuring customers achieve enjoyment and high levels of service. Lifeguards are present to supervise customers and ensure safe use of the pools and facilities at all times. In an emergency the Lifeguard is responsible to assist in the safe evacuation of all patrons and staff.
This role will require weekends and evening shifts of work. As a tourism operation we operate 7 days per week.
Key AccountabilitiesProvide information and guidance to guests to ensure their safety and enjoyment of the facilities.Plan and administer daily tasks and procedures as directed by the Spa Manager.Maintain high levels of customer supervision and safety at all times.Complete water testing and water quality management in accordance with standard operating procedures.Adjust water treatment when necessary.Complete cleaning duties in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure high levels of presentation and hygiene.QualitiesTeamwork: Able to work within a team environment.Punctuality: Showing up on time and respecting others' time.Ethical behavior: Upholding integrity and honesty in all actions.Respect: Valuing diverse opinions and backgrounds.Initiative: Taking charge of tasks without needing constant supervision.PLPC Lifeguard Certificate (full training can be provided if not already qualified).First Aid Certificate.Pre-employment drug test.Ability to understand and speak Te Reo Maori.This is an outstanding and unique opportunity to leave your mark on this new business.
