Nga korero mo te turanga – About the role

We are seeking a dynamic manager to oversee the vision for our Teaching and Learning Team.

Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction in the development of culturally appropriate, pedagogically sound teaching and online educational resources to enhance students' digital and information literacies.

You will lead a team of professionals in the delivery of high quality, equitable services, aiming where possible to embed these into Library and University activities. The role also has responsibility for partnering with other professional services and fostering a culture of systematic continuous improvement.

This is a full-time permanent role based at our Hillcrest campus. However, we are willing to consider applications to work a minimum of 0.8FTE. Salary will be in the range $96,956 to $107,177 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.

While there is an expectation for staff to be onsite at certain times, the Library supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

We are seeking candidates with the following skills:

Demonstrates strong people management skills and experience with change management.

Knowledge and demonstrable experience of pedagogies and technologies and their application.

Engaged in keeping up to date with technologies and spotting opportunities for those to support teaching, learning, customer service provision and enhancing working practices.

Knowledge and understanding of integrating indigenous ways of knowing, e.g. matauranga Maori within teaching and learning.

Dedicated to equal opportunity and partnership with Maori as per Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Understands current trends and best practices in digital and information literacy skills.

We are open to training someone who may not have experience across all areas but demonstrates potential and a willingness to learn.
