Location: HMP Huntercombe, Nuffield, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 5SB
Hours: Hours: 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (Full day Monday and Wednesday, half day Tuesday)
Salary: Approx. £12,700 Pro rata per annum (FTE £23,870 per annum)
Apprenticeships: Development opportunities are available through Apprenticeship standards
Reporting To: Education Manager
IN SHORT Milton Keynes College have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Library Assistant to be involved in delivering library and learning resource services to offenders at HMP Huntercombe.
The role as Library Assistant has several key elements which include developing a high-quality library service within the prison, supporting and developing activities with partner agencies - such as the Shannon Trust "Turning Pages" scheme, Reading Ahead, and selecting and acquiring library resources in consultation with colleagues and users to enable a vibrant provision.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to assist in the day-to-day running of the prison library. If you possess excellent communication and organisational skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to promote reading to learners and provide a high standard of service to all library users.

Extensive redevelopment has taken place over the last twenty years and there is little left of the wartime buildings.
Currently Huntercombe is a Category C adult male establishment holding a solely foreign national population in order to support government priorities on the deportation of foreign national offenders. Courses delivered within the prison include: English, Maths, ICT, P&D, Barbering, Construction, Mentoring and ESOL.
