Library Assistant - Customer Experience | Kaiawhina Manaaki KiritakiDunedin City Council – Dunedin, South Island(Permanent Part Time 18 hours per week)Dunedin Public Libraries is a network of six libraries and two book buses in Otepoti Dunedin. We offer a wide range of programmes and services with our core focus being our community and connecting with our residents and visitors. The library team are passionate about providing a safe and welcoming environment for our community to learn, connect and enjoy. Our Library Assistants provide the first point of contact for the public, providing assistance and making a meaningful impact to our community.The Customer Experience team at City Library have an exciting opportunity for a new permanent Library Assistant. This is a front-line customer service role where duties range from reader's advisory, issuing and returning library materials, shelving, admin tasks, assisting customers in the use of technology, registering new members, and cash receipting. The hours of work are as follows:Wednesdays to Fridays 5.00pm - 8.00pmSaturdays & Sundays 11.00am - 4.00pmCity Library Assistant positions focus on front line customer service, working across Lending, Youth, Information and Heritage Services areas. This is an opportunity for an experienced customer service individual to join their team to deliver quality service and connection to our community.About you:As a Library Assistant, you are the first point of contact and the go-to person to answer queries, provide assistance and make a meaningful impact to our community members.To be successful in this role, you will need:To be an excellent communicator, reliable, positive, and customer focusedTo have previous customer service and administration experienceTo have proven experience using different technology and systems and can learn new processes quicklyTo be resilient and be able to work independently and in a team, and be able to problem solveDunedin City Council is committed to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our work serving the citizens of Dunedin will reflect this.
