Librarian Pasifika

The opportunity Takanini Library delivers an integrated service for customers to access library services, creative facilities, community programmes, bookable spaces and customer services all under one roof.
In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver a range of Pasifika-centric library programmes and work closely with our Pasifika communities.
In addition, you will also support the delivery of our regular library programmes for children and their whanau.
You will be an advocate for the Pasifika voice and develop key relationships in the local Pasifika community.
You'll provide a level of customer service that is second to none.
You will proactively embrace current, new and emerging technology and support customers and staff to successfully use information resources and devices.
He korero mou: About you You work from an indigenous world view, you recognise mana atua, mana tangata and mana whenua in your practice .
You are innovative, confident and willing to learn and 'give it a go'.
You are fluent in a Pasifika language and have an interest in designing new programmes to connect with our Pasifika community.
A collaborative team member, you're willing to advocate internally for the needs and expectations of Pasifika as customers.
Excellent digital skills and strong attention to detail, with proven customer service experience, are all key skills and attributes that will set you up for success.
Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offer This is a permanent opportunity, working 40 hours per week on a variable schedule.
Takanini Library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays is required.
