We are looking for an experienced and passionate activator and events guru for a new Librarian Community Programmes role in the Central City Hub Community Partnerships team.
This new full-time position in the Central City Hub requires a passion for innovation and expertise in community programming. We're looking for strong candidates that will be able to hit the ground running with experience in stakeholder engagement, event planning and delivery, promotion and community development initiatives in the central city.
This is a permanent full-time position, working generally Monday to Friday with the occasional requirement to work outside of normal business hours based on programming needs. This role is based at the Central City Library, with the ability to work across the Central City Hub.
Among others, your day-to-day duties will be to:
Respond to the needs and priorities of the Waitemata Local Board and our local central city community by creating powerful programme opportunities.Engage key audiences in this local board area and drive high-levels of participation and recommendation.Empower and enable our diverse community by building networks and creating opportunities & partnerships.Identifying and investing in smart and innovative approaches and working alongside programme partners.Building awareness of our services to increase participation and confidence in our central city offer.He korero mou: About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspired and excited about working with our diverse Waitemata community. You'll be creative and flexible to jump into new and exciting projects working across our central city programming group. You will have previous experience leading and successfully delivering community-based initiatives along with knowledge of programme and event planning and delivery. Strong communication and relationship building skills are a must, as well as an ability to foster community engagement and strengthen relationship with our partners.
You'll also understand the importance of relationships with Maori in Tamaki Makaurau and are committed to the recognition of te ao Maori in this role. Ideally you can pronounce and use basic te reo Maori in emails, meetings and conversations.
