Are you looking for mahi in a busy legal team where nothing stands still from week to week? We are looking for an in-house lawyer with people management skills to lead our Legal Services Team. You will hit the ground running in a busy team based in the Corporate Services Team, the heart of our organisation, this role will deliver a wide range of tasks. Investigations and Tribunal processes. Legal advice to Board/Secretariat. Leading and developing a positive, customer-focused, and professional team. Contributing to the flow of ideas across the SWRB, striving to be a modern regulator, effective Lead Agency, and Crown Agent, Providing expert legal analysis, advice and sharing lessons from experience to the Board, Chief Executive and across all staff. Provide support, coaching and mentoring to team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be share ideas simply and confidently. The many pathways of knowledge, the many pathways of social work, upholding the dignity of all The Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) / Kahui Whakamana Tauwhiro is a Crown Entity which is Aotearoa's social worker regulator and lead agency for social worker workforce planning. It protects the safety of members of the public by ensuring social workers are competent and safe to practise and are accountable for the way in which they practise. It also enhances social workers' professional practice and provide insight into the opportunities and challenges facing the social worker workforce. As the SWRB, we recognise our Crown-Maori commitment as a Te Tiriti O Waitangi partner and are committed to improving services and outcomes for Maori, strengthening the Crown's relationship with Maori, and developing our Maori capability. Qualified Lawyer with at least 7 years' PQE and hold a current practising certificate. A working knowledge of regulatory principles and practice would be an advantage. Knowledge and experience of investigations, and Tribunal processes. Experience as an in-house lawyer. Experience in people management.
