We have a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our in-house Legal team. In this role you will provide trusted advice across the organisation to assist teams to deliver good customer outcomes in everything they do.
You'll be reporting to the GM Legal – Enterprise, with a focus on providing legal support to Kiwibank on matters such as commercial contracting and general banking/financial services advice. From time to time this focus may need to flex with other members of the wider Legal team due to workloads or professional development.
This is a great opportunity to be exposed to a breadth and depth of issues. Working in an in-house legal role is more than advisory work; you will be partnering with the business on your advice, looking for pragmatic solutions and best outcomes for our customers and people.
This is us. Where your expertise matters.
At Kiwibank, we will help you build on your strengths and learn new skills, but in the meantime, we would love to hear from you if you have some of the following:
Tertiary qualification in Law with a current practicing certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
2-6 years of Post-Qualification Experience.
Commercial contracting experience is essential; knowledge of banking/financial services would be ideal.
Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to support an organisation undergoing transformation. Willing to work flexibly and shift focus as the Bank's priorities change.
Proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, at all levels.
Strong understanding of the commercial and strategic context in which legal advice is given, with the ability to tailor advice accordingly and prioritise work based on strategic importance or risk profile to Kiwibank.
