UCOL Te Pukenga's Wairarapa campus has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated Kaimahi (Lecturer). We have a fixed term 0.2 FTE position teaching on our U-Skills Police Pathway waiting for you. We are looking for someone to join our team who has experience in Police and wishes to contribute to the development of the pipeline into the Police workforce.
You will have the ability to inspire our akonga to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them quality teaching, mentoring, and motivation. You will engage, support, and motivate our akonga toward achieving their qualifications, the first step on their career pathway.
We are looking for someone with the ability to develop professional partnerships across a diverse range of partners: including akonga, kaimahi, industry, iwi, whanau.
You will have an understanding of a wide range of social conditions which impact our community, along with knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for and application to professional practice in the New Zealand Institute of Technologies and Polytechnic (ITP) sector.
The role will involve creating a safe space for individuals to self-determine their pathway to success through mana enhancing learning interactions. Therefore a strong understanding of manaakitanga and the ability to interact with all people individually and collectively as culturally located people above all else is integral to the success of this role.
Excellent written and verbal skills and an ability to facilitate learning in a range of environments, in a culturally responsive way is vital to success in this role.
