This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a lasting impact on students' academic and career success. As a Lecturer specializing in Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), Career Development Learning (CDL), or a related discipline, you will bring expertise in pedagogical approaches that foster student success through real-world, practical learning experiences. You will collaborate closely with the Academic Lead for the Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) Programme, the WIL team and UC Careers, ensuring that WIL and CDL are central to the student learning journey. This includes creating opportunities for students to build career identities and professional competencies through engagement with authentic work experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching: Co-design and deliver research-informed courses within the PACE programme, using innovative, inspirational pedagogical methods that empower students to connect theory with practice.Student-Centric Engagement: Provide proactive pastoral care and student support, helping to build career confidence and competence.Service and Collaboration: Support UC's strategic objectives, engage in professional development, and actively contribute to university initiatives that advance WIL and CDL.Relationship Building: Cultivate meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty members, community partners, and industry representatives.Mou | Who You AreWe Are Looking For An Individual WithA PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications.A proven track record in teaching, with a student-centred approach that supports a diverse range of learners.Experience in designing and delivering curriculum in WIL, CDL, or related disciplines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and build strong relationships.A commitment to upholding cultural values, including te reo Maori and tikanga Maori, with competency in te reo Maori being an advantage.Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work WithThe Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) Programme at the University of Canterbury (UC) is a forward-thinking, interdisciplinary initiative designed to offer students hands-on, work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences.
