Au Mahi | What You Will Do We have an exciting opportunity for a Pukenga | Lecturer (Teaching and Administration) to assist in developing and coordinating a new online version of UC's Master of Strategic Communication programme via the Tuihono UC | UC Online platform, and to teach in-person within the Media and Communication programme.
As a member of the Media and Communication Programme in the Faculty of Arts, you will work collaboratively with both Tuihono UC | UC Online and colleagues in the Media and Communication programme | Te Tari Matai Papaho, who are partnering to develop an online version of the Master of Strategic Communication.
You will develop an online version of our successful Master of Strategic Communication (MStratCom) programme, which complements and extends the in-person degree.
You will also teach into Media and Communication courses, as appropriate to your expertise.
You will facilitate effective course delivery, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to contribute and build an effective face to face and online community.
The MStratCom produces graduates able to move into work in strategic communication and related areas and to develop their critical understanding of communication in a complex media environment.
Mou | Who You Are You will have expertise in media and communications, informed by recent developments in research / scholarship / creative work, as well as: A Masters in a strategic communication-related field, along with relevant industry or teaching experience A PhD in a field relevant to strategic communication would be an advantage Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective online teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed Evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development A willingness to learn about bicultural and multicultural issues in Aotearoa New Zealand society, including a commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi, and display a willingness to engage professionally with equity and diversity.
Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work With You will work collaboratively with both Tuihono UC | UC Online and Te Kura Matapuna Tangata ¦ School of Language, Social & Political Sciences, who are partnering to develop an online version of the Master of Strategic Communication.
You will be located with colleagues in the Department of Media and Communication.
The Tuihono | UC Online team has grown and developed over recent years to allow a wide variety of courses previously only available on campus.
The online learning team are dedicated to providing high-quality online courses for students, professionals, and lifelong learners.
